So quantum particles can be in two places at once, they can disappear and reappear at another point in space and time. So why can't you? That's been one of the major questions of quantum physics ever since scientists have been grappling with the weird fucking laws that govern the quantum realm. It turns out that the divide between quantum and classical physics, both who seem to have contradictary laws, may be caused by ripples in space and time.

If you've got clear weather late tonight, you might be able to see the Leonid meteor shower as Earth passes through the comet Tempel-Tuttle, which passes through the inner solar system every 33 years on its orbit around the sun. The best view will be in Asia, but if you're in North America you should be able to get a glimpse of the shower between 1am and dawn.

Right now, the best way to find exoplanets is to look for teensy tiny variations in the star's light that are caused by a planet or two passing in front of it. But there may be a better way-- checking out the star's chemistry. It turns out that a star with planets orbiting around it has a slightly different and discernable chemistry than those that are barren.

The NTSB recently released the flight data of the US Airways Flight 1549 that had to ditch in the Hudson back in January into the public realm, and from that data, the team at ExoSphere 3D created an amazing CG simulation of the crash. I fucking love how incredibly cool Captain Sullenburger is as air traffic control is trying to free up runways for him and he just says "Nope, we're going into the Hudson."
