It's no secret that whenever someone is under an extremely stressful situation, like some sort of like threatening situation, or even in a really emotionally satisfactory situation that time seems to slow waaay down and other times, time seems to speed up. Anyone who's ever taken LSD may have experienced the very weird situation of time being almost nonexistant. But how does the brain create our illusion of time and is there any way to slow time down on purpose to give us superhuman reflexes?

In the above illustration, there's several funky ways to trick your brain when you can't find drugs to screw your world up, with the best being the Ganzfield procedure, which involves lying on a table with 2 halves of a ping-pong ball taped over your eyes and a radio playing static to induce hallucinations. It works because the radio static and the opaque white plastic from the ping pong ball strips your brain of sensation, so your brain invents its own-- like seeing dead relatives or unicorns prancing across rainbows for example.

Ultrasound has a lot of great uses, like creating an image of an unborn baby or testing the internal structure of a piece of metal without destroying the piece.
