This week we continue to traverse the globe to bring you metal from around the world with the Japanese metal band Jig-Ai. I really want to like Japanese metal, I really do, but I end up finding so little of it that's either not weird combinations of J-pop and metal or stuff that sounds like regurgitated western metal. Fortunately there's Jig-Ai, a Czech metal band that makes believe that it's a Japanese metal band. Thanks to Darsh for pointing out their correct nationality.

As far as I know, this is really the official video for NIN's single "Discipline". If so, Trent Reznor's got a fantastic sense of humor. I fucking love this-- it takes craptastic to an art form.

This week for SMM, instead of just one music video, we'e got a selection of songs from Slipknot, one of the few halfway decent things to come out of Iowa. Enjoy.

So, we have a pretty eclectic taste in music here at IHC. Between Cranberry and I, I think we can come up with one example of good music from every genre imaginable. In this case, I'm highlighting one of my favorite Drum and Bass artists, LTJ Bukem. He has a smooth, jazzy style which could almost be called trance, but with more defined beats. Below, you'll find a few examples of his music:

Oh shit... looks like Captain Kirk has taken too much acid again-- he's starting to see shit from Star Wars and Logan's Run. You know what I like about this video? The fact that it has a real LSD feel to it, not just a "let's invert the colors and make it blink and call it an LSD effect", because that's how people who have never taken LSD think an acid trip is like. This week, 30 years ago, "Rapper's Delight" by the Sugar Hill Gang became the first hip-hop single to enter the charts in the US or anywhere else, unofficially marking the beginning of rap and hip hop in the main stream. Thus, suburban white boys would never wear their pants the same again.

IHCer Billy Bones, who is currently stationed in Iraq, found this song on a music video channel out of Dubai and decided to send it our way. It's all about how Arabs aren't all suicide bombers and how most are cool and hip and modern and shit, but the amount of bling and Lambourghinis they bring along to make the point would make P. Diddy feel like a cheapskate.
