Borderlands?
Anyone picking up Borderlands today? This week? I'm probably going to wait on it a little bit, but it does look bad-fucking-ass. Tens of thousands of guns? Jesus christ.
Last night and played until 7 oclock this morning....holy fuck its fun.
....and the official strategy guide we were looking at last night says "over 15 million guns"

they don't actually have 15 mil guns what the guns they do have run about a thousand plus its all the mods/colors/attachments that you put onto the gun and thats how they got the number. either way its still a lot of guns and a lot of mods.

True story. I totally forgot that I named him that and like two hours later I pulled up the menu screen and Skinny Faggot caught my eye, for like 2 seconds I was "WTF?! This is the best game ever!!!.....oh yea, i did that." Haha.

i used to agree, but i think consoles have really nailed down shooters in the last couple years.

How do they handle ammo for 15,000 guns? Is it like maybe 20 guns have 5.56 ammo and 30 guns use 9mm or is it generic ammo for everything like Deus Ex 2?
I'm only a level 17, but so far it seems there are just 8 or so different classes of guns and the ammo for each class fits every gun in that class. I heard there's alien guns that have infinite electrical/pulse "ammo", but just takes time to charge. I'm really, really enjoying the game and might even say it looks to be one of the Top 5 games of the year.
I'm really loving this game, but the glitched achievements are aggravating.
Example: I haven't got the achievement for sell 50 guns, but on my stats screen it says I've sold 298.
I picked it up and loved it dearly. But today I got Tekken 6 and DJ Hero and the L4D 2 demo so... yeah. It's moved back in importance. :P

i'm in a predicament with this game...i gameflyed it and yes it is amazing but i can't see myself playing it through after the first time. does anyone know of any dlc that is going to be coming out for it?
before the year is over there will be Dr. Zed's Zombie Island....
....looks to increase the level cap and adds some new enemies.
Also it looks fun as shit.
I forgot to mention that the second playthrough is hard as shit. I actually feel like I'm accomplishing something. I just wish the drops were a little bit better....too few and far between for the great ones.
how the minute you throw zombies into a game it becomes awesome...i'm still on the fence though especially with so many strong titles coming out (mass effect/modern warfare 2/l4d 2).

I'm so glad I work at gamestop seasonally or else I'd never have the coin to be able to afford this damn habit. I just paid off my Dragon Age, CoD, L4D, and reserved GoW3....its gonna be an expensive year
CoD is going to rock and it'll probably be all I play for a bit, but then when the new year hits and you get Mass Effect and Bioshock and God of War I don't know what I'm going to do...

GoW3 = epic...i used to be a manager of gamestop so i had a little chuckle when you said you were a seasonal worker. when it came time to hiring seasonals i would always hire cute/hot teen girls who didn't know a damn thing about games and fellow nerds who knew way to much. my strategy was flawless the cute girls would take on the dads and younger guys and they more or less would never say no to whatever the girls told them to buy and the guys would hit the clueless moms and girlfriends and up sell everything. the funny thing the girls were like a nerds kryptonite the would hack off there arm and trade it in if the girls told them to.
but back on subject when dragon age comes out tomorrow i'm going to be hooked i'm not a big cod multiplayer fan because people usually whine to much for my taste but i already have my group for l4d 2. dear lord you're right it's going to be an expensive year that's why i'm on the fence with borderlands
Yeah I buy 2 or 3 games a month and currently have about 15 gmes preordered. It gets expensive, so I'm glad I got a job at my local Gamestop. He said we're seasonal but he is keeping 1 or 2 people on after X-man, so I am hoping to stay along haha.
I've done I think 3 Christmases there specifically to afford my habits, but our manager has not hopped on the hiring hit girl front. I need to tell him to get on this....all we've got are nerds
yea it seriously made a big difference i always tried to hire a girl on full time but all i could get in there were nerds...it never failed though every holiday season hot girls would come in thinking the job would be an easy paycheck. i usually would hire them w/out an interview since they were able to sell so much.

Wow so after I put over 30 hours into my main character, I got on yesterday to play with a friend of mine and I am level 30 but all my proficiencies and skill points are gone. I have 0. Gearbox is currently working to fix this, but it isn't high priority as it isn't a common bug. F*ck that!
sorry to hear about that. i didn't get borderlands right when it came out and a week later when i was thinking about it, i was sort of put off of the stories of people's shit randomly disappearing and now i'm wondering if i should wait just a little bit longer til they get that worked out.

just about a number of people with the same thing happening as what happened to penguin-- you log on and either you character's gone or he's lost everything you attained. according to the developer, it "only" happens to about 1 in 1000 accounts, but that's still too many.
What if I back up all my stuff to a memory card?
